5. E911 Registration Terms and Conditions
Calling 911 using VoIP services is different from calling 911 using traditional landline services. In order for E911 Service to work properly, the address provided by Customer MUST correspond to the physical location from which the caller will use the E911 Service. A P.O. Box is not allowed to use as a physical address. If Customer changes the address that is used for E911 calling, the E911 Services may not be available or may operate differently. The Customer MUST register the new address with UsVox, Inc. in order to enable E911 capabilities. The emergency service dispatcher will only send emergency service personnel to Customer’s registered E911 Service Address. It is important that Customer keeps UsVox, Inc. advised of each number’s physical service address at all times. If Customer provides an incorrect physical service address, or if the physical service address is changed without notice, emergency calls may be routed to an incorrect emergency service provider, and emergency service personnel may not be able to transfer the call or respond to the emergency. In some circumstances, the caller may need to advise emergency service personnel of the nature of the emergency, the caller’s telephone number, or the caller’s physical location. IMPORTANT: There is a charge of $350.00 for each call made to E911 Services with an unregistered phone number and/or discrepancy with its E911 Service Address. The Customer may update its E911 Service Address at any time contacting UsVox, Inc. at [email protected]. Callers using the Service from a location outside The United States will not be able to use the E911 Service or place E911 emergency calls. E911 Service also may be unavailable if Customer should experience problems with any of its equipment. Problems with the caller’s high-speed Internet connection, including outages or network congestion, may limit or completely restrict the ability to use the E911 Service or place E911 emergency calls. Problems with the caller’s telephone, computer, modem, router, or other IP-enabled hardware may limit or completely restrict the caller’s ability to use the Service or place E911 emergency calls. Electrical power outages will disrupt the E911 Service, and Customer will not be able to place E911 emergency calls. UsVox, Inc. can make no guarantees about the consistency of the E911 services, with regard to PSAP (Public Safety Answering Points) operators being able to automatically retrieve and view caller information. If Customer’s Account is suspended or cancelled for any reason, including non-payment of charges, Customer will not be able to use the E911 Service or place E911 emergency calls. Provisioning E911 Service may take additional time following the activation of the Service, during which time the E911 emergency calling may not be available. It is strongly recommended that you always have an alternative option of accessing traditional 911 or Emergency Dialing Services.
